Opening Ceremonies in 6 hours - The process

You would think that having the top photographer's credentials at the Olympics would let you into everything, right? Nope! There are certain events that are high-demand events and require a ticket even for us. Believe it or not, there are many photographers here at the games that will not be able to get into the opening ceremonies tonight. And the regular tickets are supposedly selling for $3000-$5000 per ticket. Can you believe that?

Thanks to the USOC, I was given my ticket yesterday. :)

All of us photographers who were lucky enough to get a ticket, need to be on a bus to the stadium at 2pm today. That puts us there about 5 hours before the ceremonies start. That gives me plenty of time to select my lenses of choice and plan ahead. The next blog entry will be late tonight or tomorrow morning and will have some photos from the big event! I am off to catch the bus (armed with 2 cameras, 7 mid-range lenses and a beefy 800mm lens borrowed from Canon).
