I am selling some of my computer and camera gear: First come - First serve!

Every once in a while I upgrade equipment and sell my previously used camera and computer gear. This is one of those times. I recently upgraded my Mac Studio M1 Max to the M3 Ultra, my Canon R6 MKII to the Canon R6 MKIII, and of course the Canon 8-15mm fisheye lens to the new Canon RF 7-14mm fisheye lens. I also switched from the Godox flashes to the the Westcott flash system. All this and I have some extra BRAND NEW 4TB external SSDs as well. My upgrading is your chance to get a good deal on my previous gear.

As is always the case, everything I am selling is in perfect working order. I really do baby my equipment.

All of this is first come, first serve. You can contact me at jcable@jeffcable.com if you want to purchase any of these items.

Post Olympics: Coming back to the real world

After being in Milan for most of February, it has been an adjustment to come home. Normally I get home to what I call "Post Olympic Syndrome" where I try to catch up on all that lost sleep. This time around, I dealt with that AND getting sick. This meant that my reentry into the real world was delayed by a week.

It is always weird to go from a world where everything is Olympic focused and I am going a million miles an hour, to being back home and slowing everything down. I also go from shooting and blogging every day, to a more normal routine of shooting on select weekdays and weekends, and blogging once a week.

I missed one corporate shoot on the week I got home, but was lucky to have my son (who has his own photo business with his wife nearby) cover for me. Then this weekend, I was right back in the routine and it felt really good. The funny thing is...I had to change a lot of my camera settings (like fast burst mode and some focus modes) when starting to shoot back home.

I have been looking back at some of the photos of me in Milan and thought I would share some of those with you all. This image was taken at the NBC studio, high above the center of Milan.

Here is a photo of me shooting rink side at one of the women's games.

Many of you sent me photos of me on your TVs. This always makes me laugh. I think my granddaughter was the best at spotting her "Papa" on TV.

I think I was most visible at the times when I was holding up the Canon fisheye lens. Claude was nice enough to send me this photo of me on the glass. Look at the vintage camera being used to my right.

Here is a photo of myself and Hillary Knight after the women had just won their gold medals. It was smiles all around.

Heather was nice enough to capture this photo of me wearing a gold medal.  I should clarify, that normally we are not allowed to interact with the athletes or wear a medal, but since I work for the team I am lucky to have this privilege.

Now I am looking back at the Games as another great memory, and sharing the stories with everyone. I have done one presentation to a photo club and have a couple more coming up. If you want me to present at your photo club, just let me know, and I will see if I can fit that into the schedule. I really love sharing the photos and stories with you all.

It is hard to believe that the 2028 Olympics (my 10th) will be in my home state of California! It will be really different to drive to the Games and be in the same time zone. Until then...it is back to capturing personal and corporate events, leading photo tours and more. It is not the Olympics, but I feel equally blessed to be able to do what I love!

Want to travel the world with me and learn photography (while having a blast)?

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for following along on my ninth Olympic journey. I have heard so many really nice things from you, from people who love photography, those who love sports, and others who just enjoy the stories.

Many of you have asked me if I lead photo tours and I absolutely do. I LOVE sharing the passion of photography with others, regardless of whether you are a beginner or an experienced professional. It does not matter what brand of camera you use, but if you live in the US and want to try almost any Canon gear for free, that can be arranged through my contacts at Canon.

I have been leading photo tours all over the world for more than 10 years now, and have hand-picked some of my favorite locations for 2026 and 2027.

Many of the tours are sold out, but not all of them. I thought I would let you know which trips have open spots as of today.

In May, I will be traveling to Minnesota to lead a photo tour with the bears. I only have ONE spot left for this trip, so if you are interested, let me know ASAP.

I have led almost 20 photo tours to the rain forest of Costa Rica, and it remains a favorite of mine. I have 3 trips to this amazing location this year. Two of them are already sold out, but I have 2 spots open for the trip at the end of June. I also have new trips recently added for 2027.

I love teaching photography in my hometown of San Francisco. This year will be the third time I have done this. It is my most affordable trip, and I have 5 openings for this October.

Have you ever seen the Northern Lights or been in an ice cave? At the end of this year, I will be leading a photo tour to Iceland, so that we can all capture this majestic place. I have 5 spots open for this trip as well.

In 2027, I will be returning to Peru to lead another photo tour in this land of colorful people and breathtaking views. I have room for 4 more people on this trip, and I promise you will love the food, the sites and the photo opportunities in this epic land.

Right after the Peru trip, I will be staying down in South America to lead yet another trip to the Galapagos Islands. This trip is full with the exception of one spot (for a male), as we share rooms on the live-aboard boat.

You can see the prices and exact dates on the photo tour webpage.

I would love to meet you in person and share the passion of photography with you. Come join along!
