2012 Summer Olympics: Synchronized Swimming

Yesterday was an early water polo game for the men of Team USA, who were already out of medal contention. This gave me time to shoot their game and then head next door to shoot an hour of the synchronized swimming (which is a sport that I wanted to try and capture). The good news is that I was able to capture some of the sport, the bad thing is that I did not have time to move to a lower shooting position. My initial goal was to shoot some of the teams from high up and some from a lower position. Oh well...I guess that will have to wait until the 2016 Olympics. :)

Enjoy the images...

The women come out and set up before they dive into the water.

It is amazing how much power these women have, to kick hard enough to raise one of their teammates high into the air. Remember, they are not allowed to touch the bottom of the pool.

This was a cool cross-weave pattern formed by their legs, and then they rotated in place. It was pretty impressive.

So cool!

Like I said, this was a fun sport to shoot and I look forward to trying this again when I have more time.
